3-15-2. George Howard Darwin to H. Poincaré

March 3. [18]99

Newnham Grange—Cambridge

Dear Monsieur Poincaré,

I am delighted to hear that there is a chance of your being willing to contribute to the Stokes volume.

The title of your paper should arrive by the middle of May, but the final manuscript need not be in our hands until (at latest) the latter part of September.

The Committee would wish to give you “carte blanche” as to length and subject, and I can assure you that we shall regard any contribution from you as a great honour.11 1 Poincaré’s manuscript was received 25.09.1899, cf. Poincaré (1899). See also Darwin to Poincaré, 25.05.1899 (§ 3-15-4).

I remain, Yours very sincerely

GH Darwin
